Student Musical Instruments
I’m going to be introducing some affiliate links for student instruments on this page and on future post pages.
A bit about my musical background and history.
I was a voice major in music school. I’ve taught voice. I’ve sung with the Tanglewood Festival Chorus as part of the Boston Symphony Orchestra and Boston Pops. I’ve performed with the TFC & BSO at Symphony Hall in Boston and at Carnegie Hall in NYC. As a student I sang with the Springfield Symphony Chorus and was a member of my college Concert Choir. I’ve been a soloist with local Choral Societies. I even sang with ‘Up With People’ in the late 60′s and early 70′s. Yeah…that was a lot of fun!
Instrumentally I played a Conn Alto and Buffet Tenor Sax for a long time. I dabbled with clarinet, flute and recorder. I also play a Yamaha F-250 guitar circa 1976 and own two circa 1900 clarinets, a wooden flute circa 1900, 1 soprano recorder and 1 alto recorder and a Baldwin Studio upright piano circa 1976. I’ll try to offer links to reviews on instruments so you as a buyer can attempt to evaluate a particular type of instrument. It’s very difficult to include any one instrument into a group because each instrument tends to play slightly differently especially instruments with interchangeable mouthpieces or stringed instruments where you can purchase a variety of strings from cheap to very expensive. Reeds play an important part in sound as well as the mouthpiece they may be attached to. So…I’ll try to give you as much information or direct you to information sources so you may make an informed purchase.
