About

I started playing knock hockey when I was about 8 years old at the Bliss Park playground in Longmeadow, MA. That was in the early 1960′s. In 1984 or so I made my first knock hockey board game for my then-2-year-old daughter. It was made of scrap 1/2″ plywood from my wood shop. There was a lot of trial and error involved – the height and length of the ends and sides, the proper placement of the ‘block’ and ‘goal mouth’, and the proportions between the puck, the goal, and the block. All I was working from was a sawdust-blocked memory, but once I finally figured out the proportions and the distances of the lines I had my childhood game and I was now able to ‘pass it on’ to my daughter who has now become expert enough to beat her old man from time to time.

I guess I’m pretty good at this type of thing or so I’m told. I’ve had 30 plus years now of woodworking experiences including restoration of old houses, finish carpentry including antique doors, frames, trim and a lot of detail work on mantels and staircases. I used to build premium custom hand-made knock hockey boards prior to buying a restaurant which has now been sold.

The plans offered for sale were derived from the countless hours I spent designing prototypes for the variety of knock hockey boards I made. The plans I will feature first were for the “Fathom” knock hockey board which was the basic 2×3 design. I will also have plans for the 3×4 “Monster” board which will come along later.

I have resumed making wooden knock hockey sticks & pucks after many requests for a more durable set of knock hockey accessories. Order Wooden Nok Hockey Sticks & Pucks by clicking on the Navigation Bar at the top of the page.

I now work as a part time woodworker supplying sticks and pucks for this website, part-time designing blogs & as a graphic designer, writing & consulting on landscaping, and I do (*) photo documentation of antique home restoration projects and landscape projects in and around the Greater Littleton, NH area and in the White Mountains of New Hampshire.

( * ) This is a new venture that brings together years of knowledge and experience into documenting photographically, commercial & residential restoration projects.
